Power Plant Silencer Fans for Suction and Discharge – Saba 29 MW Power Plant Project

One of the primary sources of noise in power plants is the exhaust and supply fans, so it is essential to reduce their noise levels as much as possible. One of the most effective methods for lowering fan noise is the use of silencers. As airflow passes through the silencer panels—which are made of perforated sheets filled with acoustic absorbent material—the noise generated by the fan is significantly attenuated in the surrounding environment. The amount of noise reduction achieved by these silencers in power plant applications depends on the length of the panels, their thickness, and the spacing between them.

In this project, based on the client's requirements and in compliance with ISO 3743 and ISO 7253 standards, a total of 28 power plant silencer fans were designed and manufactured by Tahvieh Tasisat Maksh va Dahsh Company, each with an airflow capacity of 17,000 CFM. The silencers are of the rectangular duct type, with straight panels covered by perforated sheets and filled with rock wool as the acoustic absorbent material. Thanks to the design and materials used in these silencers, and following successful performance tests, the noise level was successfully reduced to 83 dB.
